Cody and Jordan

Why FRANCE

Paris has always held a special place in our hearts. Cody first fell in love with France during a high school French Club trip, while Jordan discovered its beauty years later while studying abroad. For Jordan's 30th birthday, Cody surprised him with a Christmas trip to Paris, giving us the chance to experience the city together for the very first time.

Since then, France has become much more than a destination to us. We love the slower pace of life, the belief that meals should be lingered over, and the way art seems to exist around every corner. Cody is endlessly inspired by the timeless architecture, while Jordan loves the grandeur of it all; how every street feels like a postcard. We admire the unapologetic passion of the French people, from their devotion to culture to the way they fiercely stand up for what they believe in.

Some of our favorite memories have come from wandering with no itinerary, discovering little cafés, and getting wonderfully lost together. Our love for French craftsmanship and timeless design even inspired us to choose Cartier rings, a small piece of France that we carry with us every day.

So when it came time to choose where we would begin this next chapter, the answer felt obvious. We couldn't imagine a more meaningful place to gather the people we love most and celebrate our marriage than in a country that has given us so much joy and continues to inspire us every time we return.

With love,

CODY & JORDAN

Our loveSTORY

The Start, 2019 photo

The Start, 2019

Cody and Jordan met on a dating app, with a classic story of playing hard to get. Their first date was a Taco Tuesday at Miguelitos in Tampa, and between easy conversation, plenty of laughs, and endless chips and salsa it quickly became clear there was something special there.

The Real Deal, 2020 photo

The Real Deal, 2020

As things became more serious and our lives became more intertwined, it was finally time for the fur babies to meet. Toby and Lemon were introduced and quickly became frenemies. Not long after, COVID changed the world and, after countless trips between Cody's apartment and Jordan's house, Cody officially moved in. Together, the four of us made the best of quarantine with TikTok dances, internet recipes, DIY haircuts, plenty of laughs, and what would become one of our favorite chapters together.

The Home, 2021 photo

The Home, 2021

After many months of quarantine boredom, Jordan decided it was time for a project, and the full home renovation began. A nail through the foot, grout in the eye, an insurance claim, and one very dirty cat and dog later, they somehow survived the chaos. Along the way, they learned how to tackle challenges as a team, building not only a home together, but an even stronger relationship.

The Growth, 2023 photo

The Growth, 2023

Cody and Jordan continued to grow together, supporting each other as they progressed in their careers and sharing a love of Halloween, hosting friends and family, and traveling the world.

The Proposal, 2025 photo

The Proposal, 2025

On June 19, 2025, Cody and Jordan returned to one of their favorite places, Panama, where Jordan got down on one knee and asked Cody to spend forever together. The answer was an easy yes. Not wanting Jordan to miss out on a proposal of his own, Cody later planned a trip to Mexico City and surprised him with a matching Trinity ring, giving them both a moment they would never forget.

And now, our greatest adventure begins. We cannot wait to celebrate with the people we love most as we say I do in France.

Chateau d’Aveny

THE HISTORY

The story of Château d'Aveny begins nearly a thousand years ago, on the foundations of an 11th century fortified manor. Over the centuries, the estate passed through the hands of some of France's most distinguished noble families, including the influential House of Broglie, whose lineage would later produce military leaders, statesmen, and even a Nobel Prize winner.

In 1778, the de Fayet family acquired the estate and transformed it into the elegant château we know today, restoring the residence, redesigning the park, and creating the romantic setting that still enchants visitors centuries later. In 1800, one of the château's earliest recorded weddings was celebrated here, beginning a tradition of love stories that continues to this day.

Today, Château d'Aveny stands as a beautifully preserved piece of French history; a place where nobility once gathered, generations have celebrated, and where, for a few unforgettable days, our own story becomes part of its legacy.

THE GROUNDS

Set within six hectares of parkland, the grounds of Château d'Aveny feel like a French painting come to life. Tree-lined paths, centuries-old trees, and tranquil fountains invite guests to slow down, wander, and get delightfully lost. It was this sense of effortless beauty and serenity that made us fall in love with the château from the very first moment.

THE ROOMS

Beyond the château's historic salons, the estate offers beautifully renovated bedrooms, a charming orangery, and private townhouses tucked behind the main residence. Thoughtfully updated with modern comforts while preserving their French character, the accommodations offer the perfect blend of old-world elegance with contemporary European comforts.

TRAVEL
&accomodations

GETTING THERE

There are many options for getting from the US to Paris, France. Paris' largest airport is CDG (Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport), while ORY (Paris Orly Airport) primarily serves domestic and European flights.

From the US, you can also fly into multiple Western European hubs and connect to Paris by regional flight or train. One of the most popular and often most cost-effective options is flying direct to London (LHR or LGW), then taking the Eurostar Chunnel train to Paris or connecting onward by air.

Once in France, there are a few ways to get to Château d'Aveny:

  • Rent a car and enjoy the easy drive to Château d'Aveny, located about one hour from CDG or ORY.
  • Arrange a car service to and from the airport or your hotel.
  • Take public transportation, though please note it involves both train and local bus connections and can take up to 2.5 hours.

WHERE TO STAY

All guests are requested to stay on site at Château d'Aveny. The château and its grounds comfortably accommodate all of our guests, with over 35 modern rooms spread throughout the Château, The Orangerie, and its surrounding buildings.

THINGS TO DO

We have created a go-to guide of things to do in the area. You'll find activities offered by the château, charming nearby towns to explore, other châteaux in the region to tour, a nearby golf course, and, of course, the world-famous Monet Gardens, located less than 20 minutes away in Giverny.
